Walking the Art Beat

edited by Sheila Kim -- Interior Design, 9/1/2002 12:00:00 AM

Who says creative types are reclusive? Multimedia artists Leo Villareal and Tim Rollins as well as other talents, both famous and emerging, throw open their studio doors for Artwalk NY, benefiting the New York Coalition for the Homeless. The event, now in its eighth year, kicks off with ABC network anchor Peter Jennings interviewing artist Jeff Koons, the 2002 honoree. Festivities culminate in a reception at Chelsea's Gagosian Gallery when works donated by Christo and Jeanne Claude, Chuck Close, William Wegman, et al., are sold at auction to raise funds for the coalition. October 19-24; 212-243-7300.
