Super Freak

Staff -- Interior Design, 11/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

It's not a stylish street vendor, but rather, a "confession booth" of sorts. All True Networks, an Internet-based company feeding the crave of net-surfing, voyeuristic types, commissioned architectural firm Glen & Company to create a portable, soundproof structure that generates original video content from no set location for the All True website. Constructed of a corrugated-aluminum exterior, interior rubberized vinyl walls, and a rubber floor, this booth, affectionately named "The Freak Box," captured video footage of visitors stopping in from city streets, campuses, and nightclubs via an installed video camera and built-in microphones. Though no longer operating, the Freak Box is perhaps a predecessor of brand marketing design to come.
