Indiana State University's Interior Design program has been granted accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
The Interior Design program was first established at ISU in the mid-1960s and is offered through the Family and Consumer Sciences department. In 2000, the association visited ISU and evaluated the program, which is what first led to the review of the program.
Professor and Art Department Chairman Dele Jegede said that the accreditation didn't take long to be approved. The program is unique because it caters to both art and design, he said. Jegede said the association looks at the university programs as a whole during the accreditation process and accredits all the programs.
