Chia's Pets

Craig Kellogg -- Interior Design, 7/1/2008 12:00:00 AM

Fashion Institute of Technology alum Wenlan Chia's chunky knitwear sells through luxury stores in Japan. She also sells yarn—and explains how to knit with it in her three books. If that weren't enough, she designs whimsical accessories in serious diamonds, sapphires, rubies, pearls, and 24-karat gold.

Chia's universe has expanded again with the launch of playful home products for Twinkle Living. A New Zealand wool portrait of her French bulldog, Milan, is ready to unroll as an occasional rug. The dog's Imaginary Friend is identical—but with the black and white swapped. Reverse Brush Stroke cuts bold swaths across a 5-foot rug. Larger designs showcase the likes of hand-drawn stripes, daydream-y doodles, or flowers. And is that truly a wink at eye shadow and mascara? When the fashion bug bites, there's just no cure. 917-338-6622; twinkleliving.com. circle 448
