Italian furniture manufacturer Poliform has a newly expanded and redesigned showroom in Chicago. Designed by architecture firm Bestetti & Associates, the new space extends two levels, and at 11,500 square feet, has more than doubled in size.
On the corner of Franklin and Illinois, in the heart of the design district, the showroom is carved out of a 100-year-old building. Timber beams and exposed brick walls serve as backdrop for the Poliform Chicago line, Flexform sofas, and TRE-Piu’ interior doors.
Design details include transparent glass wall partitions and white epoxy floors which “act as a blank canvas for furnishings set within this architectural context,” according to press material.
“The timeless white floors can be interpreted in numerous ways, depending exclusively on the light and color of the wood, becoming modern or very classic," says architect Kicco Bestetti, who led the design team. "The glass partitions are additional architectural elements that dialogue with the
white floors and existing structure, bringing out the beautiful exposed brick walls and timber beams present in the Chicago space.”
Bestetti & Associates also recently completed a showroom in Los Angeles for the manufacturer.
