Under the Boardwalk

Inside the Pier at Caesars, an upscale Atlantic City shopping mall, Shawn Hausman Design has completed the 9,000-square-foot Continental—for the Starr Restaurant Organization of Buddakan fame. Under a 20-foot ceiling painted midnight blue, Shawn Hausman took his cues from Googie architecture, spraying surfaces with a mad mix of acoustical "popcorn" and glitter. The kitsch continues on the "patio," with its reflecting pools and fire pit.
