Alliance of Elegance: Palomba Serafini Associati

Elizabeth Wine -- Interior Design, 7/1/2009 12:00:00 AM

To inaugurate their collaboration, Kos and Zucchetti Rubinetteria tapped luxury bathing specialists Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, founders of Palomba Serafini Associati, to design the Faraway collection. The pair came up with the curvy Vis-à-Vis tub by casting a seamless, nonporous, marblelike form from a composite of minerals mixed with polyester and acrylic resin. The organic feel and velvety finish spill over to a pair of sinks, freestanding Round and deck-mounted or pedestal Square, both made of that same composite. Sunken flush with the floor, Pool completes the home-spa experience—at 179 inches long by 103 wide by 39 deep. Steps descending into the fiberglass pool not only light up but also contain a blower that sends ripples over the surface of the water.
