Whatchamacallit?

To the swirl of events surrounding Art Basel Miami Beach and Design Miami you can now add Pecha Kucha Night. Originated in 2003 by Klein Dytham Architecture, this cocktail of design and self-promotion is a nomadic networking party named after the Japanese words for the sound of conversation. In plain English, designers get 20 seconds to show 20 slides of projects. Florida InsideOut magazine organized the December 6 appearance of the phenomenon, showcasing fast talkers Yves Béhar, et al.
