Architecture and design firm Gensler and artist Scott Snibbe will unveil a three-dimensional interactive office space at NeoCon World's Trade Fair, June 12-14 in Chicago's Merchandise Mart. “The Art of Interaction: Looking into the Future of Workplace,” sponsored by Interior Design, is an interactive experience of people and place, featuring sculptural forms, light, technology, and shifting physical boundaries.
Gensler intends to challenge the assumptions of what an office should look like and inspire better forms of communication through design. The firm asks: “If collaboration is essential for the future of work, how is the workplace essential to the future of collaboration?”
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the spatial dynamics which could define tomorrow's office—dynamics which affect communication and collaboration, notes press material.
Gensler's formal and anecdotal research points to human interaction as a key driver for the future of workplace design. More than a simple container for people, furniture and technology, the office is now the primary point of intersection between teams, mobile workers, leaders, and staff.
The exhibit will be located on the South Lobby's first floor. Directly outside the exhibit, the "Knowledge Lounge" will offer NeoCon attendees the chance to discuss their impressions.
We would love your feedback!
