Kitchen-and-bath is booming these days. Both urban and suburban, kitchens have become showrooms of professional-grade appliances, and bathrooms—growing ever more spalike—are being fit with oversize tubs and multiple showerheads. Designers and dealers spent more than $235 million in 2002 to accomplish this transformation, completing some 4,000 kitchen-and-bath projects. To celebrate this increasingly important sector, Interior Design launches an annual list of the leaders of the pack.
