Q: 2009 Design Resolutions

Annie Block, Mark McMenamin, and Meghan Edwards -- Interior Design, 1/1/2009 12:00:00 AM

The final strains of “Auld Lang Syne” have faded, but five designers have yet to weigh in on our version of the ageless New Year’s query: “What are your design resolutions for 2009?”

“Reuse and recycle whenever possible, and be as eco-sensitive as we can in our new work.” —Shamir Shah of Shamir Shah Design

“Emphasize to my staff the benefits of a collaboration—good ideas can come from anywhere.” —Yolanda Cole of Hickok Cole Architects

“Keep praying that people with money get taste and people with taste get money.” —Hutton Wilkinson of Tony Duquette

“Remain focused and participate in the creative movement of innovation, which helps fuel the economy.” —Richard Frinier of the Richard Frinier Collection

“Do more of everything.” —Barbara Barry
