Ming Hui Bon Hoa joins the Washington, D.C. office of architecture and design firm Mancini-Duffy as project manager. Previously, Hoa held positions at Shalom Baranes Associates Architects, HOK, and Raphael Vinoly.
Architecture firm Swanke Hayden Connell Architects (SHCA) has two new principals: Peter A. Gross and John Jappen. Most recently, Gross was a senior associate principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects. Jappen moves up from his position as project director.
Furniture manufacturer Allsteel has one new hire and one promotion. Amy Bartz joins as business development manager in the Midwest region and Lori Peters-Garzelloni moves up to corporate account manager in the Mid Atlantic Region.
Jeff Fenwick is onboard furniture manufacturer Kimball Office, a brand of Kimball International, as vice president of marketing.
Lester Blumenthal, formerly of Blumenthal Alternative Wallcovering (Purchased by Steelcase) has launched Blackbird, a company offering handcrafted lighting.
Global auction house Christie’s International has appointed Michael O’Neal vice president and web channel director.
Retail Design firm Chute Gerdeman has three new staff members. Faith Bartrug is a senior designer in brand and visual strategy; Virginia Kistler is a designer on the design development team; and Gretchen Ardizzone joins the marketing department as strategic resource coordinator.
International hardware manufacturer Nobilus has purchased the intellectual property and products of hardware manufacturer Patten Design of Huntington Beach, California.
Kathie Chrisicos, owner and president of interior design firm Chrisicos Interior Design has received the “Rookie of the Year” award from the Builders Association of Greater Boston. The award recognizes her contributions to the organization in 2006.
Bob Mayeron, CFO of full-service architecture firm KKE Architects, has been appointed president of the Board of the Design Professionals Risk Control Group (DPRCG), a large firm risk purchasing group.
Furniture manufacturer Jane Hamley Wells has named Ashley Atkinson sales executive for the Chicago/Midwest region.
