Going once, going twice! Modern design curator Larry Weinberg is cleaning house—and the industry’s most dedicated collectors are sure to benefit. This weekend, the Interior Design blogger will share some of his favorite pieces at the Sollo Rago Modern auction October 24-25.

After more than a decade collecting some of last century’s most rare and sought after examples of modern design, the Lin-Weinberg Gallery is parting with its wares. The auction’s lots 670 through 716 feature some 46 pieces of American furniture and lighting from 1940-55 that the partnership acquired throughout its operation. Among Weinberg’s most prized articles, the lots include a Paul Laszlo chair from the 1948 Herman Miller collection, a Joseph Carriero striped bench for Pine and Baker, a Bill Lam adjustable height coffeetable, two Frank Lloyd Wright plywood chairs from the Manson House, and continuous plywood lounge chairs by Plycraft.

“During the 11-year run of Lin-Weinberg, the Soho/Gramercy gallery I owned with Andy Lin, we saw a considerable amount of 20th-century design pass through our doors, both in and out. The entire process was a good deal of fun, as well as a good deal of work, and for a design enthusiast, it was a trip being able to review and judge, restore and display, enjoy, and then pass along a wide array of visually and intellectually stimulating objects.”

The entire auction is available to view at shop.ragoarts.com, and the sale will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. The Lin-Weinberg collection takes the stage the following day when bidding opens Sunday morning.
