High Point Launches Trend Center

A maze of individually-furnished rooms, the trend center will be redesigned for each market.

The Spring High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina is just around the corner (April 7-13), and finding out what is hot at the mega wholesale home furnishings tradeshow just got easier. A new trend center--dubbed Amazed--offers a platform of individually-furnished rooms showcasing the latest innovations.

Located on the top floor of the Suites at Market Square, the trend center will focus on the influence of technological advancements, food, and fashion on the home. Conceived to help designers, retailers, and manufacturers discover what is influencing today's home furnishings consumers, Amazed is slated to become a permanent feature at the bi-annual fair. Rooms will be redesigned for each market.

"Designers and merchandisers are always looking for a source of inspiration for their work," says Karen Olson, vice president of marketing for Merchandise Mart Properties. "This is not your typical display of product trends but more conceptual, stimulating personal interpretation."

The concept was developed by Lynne Carroll of Covet, Mike Farrell of Imagine adventures and Merchandise Mart Properties.

High Point Market boasts over 12 million square feet of exhibition space and more than 2,600 manufacturers displaying casegoods, upholstery, accessories, lighting, wall decor, bedding, rugs, and home textiles. Some 85,000 attendees make the trip in both the spring and the fall.
