IzzydesignFor the second year running, IIDA held the Booth Design Competition at NeoCon East , an offshoot of the Showroom and Booth Competition hosted annually at NeoCon in Chicago. As part of the organization’s activities at NeoCon East, winners were honored on the showroom floor.

Creative Excellence awards were given to two booths. Designtex received the Award for Small Booth, which recognizes creativity in booths of 400 square feet or less. Izzydesign , an office desking and seating manufacturer, took the Award for Large Booth, which considers spaces of 400 or more square feet. Izzydesign also garnered the Best of Competition prize.

IIDA member-judges, all of whom hailed from Baltimore, liked that Designtnex “used an accessible approach to displaying their green products.” Izzydesign was noted for its "great use of reflective materials and accent colors," and "nice use of floor graphics and lighting.”

Booths were judged on originality of design, visual impact, effective use of materials, use of space, use of color and texture, lighting, and graphics. NeoCon East 2005 was held September 14-15.
