"Psycho Buildings" at London's Hayward gallery promises an assortment of thought-provoking spaces.

The Hayward gallery at London's Southbank Centre is celebrating its 40th birthday by doing something very middle-aged: turning to psychology. "Psycho Buildings," on view May 28 to August 25, isn't about sanatoriums, however. It's an investigation of structures and spaces that are as cerebral as they are physical.
Contributed by design firms, artists, and collectives, works range from Ernesto Neto's sensory labyrinth of transparent fabric and Do-Ho Suh's model of his childhood South Korean home colliding with his former New England apartment. And just as psychotherapy often instigates change, pieces installed on the Hayward's three terraces will transform its 1968 brutalist concrete exterior by Sir Hubert Bennett.
