Italian for All

Josephine Minutillo -- Interior Design, 5/3/2005 12:00:00 AM

Attendees to Milan's annual Salone del Mobile have long been privy to that show's unrivaled display of cutting-edge Italian design. Now its organizer, Cosmit, and Italian-furniture representative Federlegno-Arredo, are taking the event on the road under the name I Saloni Worldwide. First stop: New York at the Show Piers on the Hudson, where it will feature more than 60 exclusively Italian companies and a special exhibit by designer Gaetano Pesce. "It's a first-rate presentation of the best that the 'Made in Italy' label has to offer—and especially of the brands not normally shown in New York," says Manlio Armellini, Cosmit's managing director." Piers 90 and 92 (12th Avenue); May 14-17; isaloniworldwide.com.
