Bruce Rhoades is the new director of interiors for the Cambridge, Massachusetts office of national architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and landscape architecture firm KlingStubbins.

Pari Tivay has been promoted to project manager for the sustainable design solutions team at international architecture, engineering, and consulting firm HDR Architecture.

Axminster carpet manufacturer Brintons has broken ground on a new plant site in Suzhou, China. The facility will contain 178,000 square feet of manufacturing space and employ 350 workers.

National architecture and engineering firm SmithGroup has promoted Michael Grage, Kim Klingeisen, Alethia Anderson, and Diane Govenat to associate in the firm's Minneapolis office. Matthew Davis, Louise Griffin, Reaz Haque, Sonia Johansen, Nish Kothari, Kenneth Lerch, Nancy Ludlow, and Sally Whiteley were promoted to associate in the firm's Los Angeles and San Francisco offices.

Eungie Joo, Keith Haring director and curator of public programs at New York's New Museum, has been named the first non-Korean national commissioner for the Korean Pavilion at next year's Venice Biennale.

RIM Architects has received the Green Business Partner award from the city of San Francisco for its commitment to conservation, pollution prevention, and green business practices.

Wood-furniture manufacturer Indiana Furniture has received Greenguard Certification for indoor air quality for its Derive and Resilience casegood lines.
