Milliken Floor Covering Opens Manufacturer in China

Milliken was recently named one of the "10 most trusted brands" in China.

Milliken Floor Covering plans to operate its first manufacturing facility in China by the end of the year. An initiative by the carpet manufacturer's new wholly owned manufacturing company, Milliken Textile (Zhangjiagang) Company Limited, the facility is part of parent company textile and chemical manufacturer Milliken & Company’s push for continued growth in the China and Asia Pacific markets.

Production of commercial carpet at the plant, located on a site within the Jiangsu Province Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone, will follow Milliken proprietary technologies to insure high-quality standards. Product will be available at substantially shorter lead times and at more competitive pricing.

"The Chinese and other Asia Pacific markets for Commercial Carpet have grown and are projected to continue to grow very rapidly," says Russell Grizzle, president of Milliken’s Floor Covering Division. "Additionally, we have recently learned that the Milliken brand of carpet is one of the "10 most trusted brands" in China."

One of the largest privately-held textile and chemical manufacturers in the world, Milliken Floor Covering is headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
