The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Foundation has selected Yeshica Marroquin from the University of Texas at Arlington as the winner of its second annual Kimball Office Scholarship Fund. Trustees select winners based on academic excellence and design promise.
Funded by office furniture manufacturer Kimball Office, the three-year scholarship program was conceived to support diversity at the college and university level. Students, of African, Asian, Latin, or Native American heritage, are seniors pursuing a degree in interior design. Each of the three recipients in the program receives $5,000.
"We were thoroughly impressed with Yeshica’s portfolio and her comprehension of the balance of art and technology, as well as a noteworthy evidence of spatial exploration and innovative concepts in the interior design process, says David Hanson, chair of the IIDA Foundation. "The quality of her work and her skills are quite advanced and she will be a great design professional."
Last year, the prize went to Diana Kang from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Dedicated to furthering interior design through education, research, and knowledge, the IIDA Foundation is a not-for-profit (501c3), philanthropic organization.
We would love your feedback!
