Cloth Connections

edited by Elana Frankel -- Interior Design, 5/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

When DUNE'S new showroom opens in Tribeca on May 18th, clients will be able to catch sight of new European fabrics with fashion flair. As the exclusive United States distributor of 15 new textile patterns, the company decided to complement its furniture line with well-priced ($32-$69) and well-styled designs. From the solid wool Reese to the matte, gel-coated Kinky, the collection is contemporary and streamlined. "Most of the series features natural fibers—such as the jute and wool—with a few high-tech fabrics thrown in, like the suede micro fiber that is Teflon treated," says DUNE founder Richard Shemtov. "Some are upholstery weight with drapery possibilities." No matter which, each fabric brings to this country a type of texture and quality that is rarely seen. Want to check out DUNE's latest project and the new fabric—stop by New York's latest Hugo Boss Café. DUNE, 88 Franklin Street, New York, NY 10013.
