There's a rather jaunty charm to the Lumiere single-lever bath mixer. Its eye-catching ergonomic design permits a single orbital movement to control water flow and temperature. Made of stainless steel both inside and out, Lumiere is completely lead- and zinc-free. Offered in gloss, brushed, and sandblasted finishes. Visit site.

The luxurious Metropolis faucet combines pure geometric lines with Lalique crystal inserts based on 1928 originals that René Lalique designed for the fabled Orient-Express. Constructed of solid brass, Metropolis comes in 85 finishes including precious metals such as gold, sterling silver, and bronze. Visit site.

Napoleon and Josephine bathed here—or somewhere quite similar. Originally produced in the mid-1800s for aristocratic French homes, the Boat bath has been replicated with some modern updates. Made of solid cast aluminum, the tub can be polished or primed to accept paint. An acrylic bonded to the interior helps reduce coldness. And at 31 inches by 71 inches, Boat is large enough to accommodate two bathers of 21st-century size. Visit site.

Vitraform

This pedestal sink is the first in a series of all-glass furniture for the bath. The basin and counter are created according to a unique method of laminating a double layer of glass for durability. A selection of 12 glass colors can be ordered. Visit site.

This is not your mother's kitchen. The suspended round form of Acropolis, by Ferrari designer Paolo Pininfarina, includes a computerized system that manages appliances and provides radio, television, and Internet access. Ergonomically designed of steel and aluminum, Acropolis functions as a futuristic command center for the home. Visit site.

The Modern collection is distinguished by a stylized aesthetic and fine craftsmanship. A variety of single and multifunctional solid-brass showerheads is available. Authentic plated finishes include chrome and satin nickel.

American Standard

This porcelain lavatory console from the Standard collection echoes 1922 designs but has been reengineered to meet today's performance standards. Modern features include the ergonomic right-height proportions. Nostalgic appeal has been happily left intact. Visit site.
