Second Look Recycled Wallcovering

Second-Look Recycled Wallcovering

Second-Look is the first and only recycling program for vinyl wallcovering. The fashion-forward designs are available with a minimum of 20% recycled content including at least 10% post-consumer. Introduced by Louisville-based LSI Wallcovering in 2007, Second-Look won several 2007 awards, including:

  • Innovations Grand Prize for Environmental Solutions at NeoCon

  • Gold Award for Most Sustainable Product from IIDEX/NeoCon Canada

  • Symposium Distinction Award for Most Sustainable Product from the Healthcare Facilities Symposium

  • Architectural Record 's Editor's Picks for one of the top new products introduced in 2007

  • Interiors & Sources' Editors Choice Award for one of the most innovative new products in 2007

LSI's Cirqa, Plexus and Versa wallcovering brands each offer a Second-Look recycled collection through the company's U.S. and international distributors. The recycled selections have the same durability, performance and price as LSI's standard wallcoverings. In addition, many standard designs can be made as Second-Look recycled wallcoverings with a 500 yard minimum. The low-VOC wallcoverings last for 10+ years and can be repeatedly recycled to divert them from the landfill for decades. A comprehensive sustainable solution, Second-Look also offers a retrieval program that reclaims used vinyl wallcovering made by any manufacturer and transforms it into new Second-Look patterns.

Second-Look recycled wallcoverings are low-VOC, use water-based inks, incorporate a mildew-inhibiting agent and can be installed with water-based adhesives. All wallcoverings are free of mercury and cadmium. Second-Look supports LEED criteria by taking back used wallcovering and transforming it into post-consumer recycled, low-VOC wallcovering. The Type II, 20-ounce commercial vinyl wallcovering measures 52”/54” wide and is available with Permavent™, a unique microventing technology that manages the mobile moisture in walls. Second-Look meets all specifications for Type II vinyl wallcovering. LSI also offers n'viro, an alternative cellulose-based wallcovering in its Versa line.
