Indiana Furniture Products Snag Greenguard Certification

The products also meet BIFMA standards for low-emitting office furniture systems and earn points for LEED Credit 4.5.

Indiana, with a trophy closet that boasts John Mellencamp's Grammys and Indiana University's NCAA basketball titles, can now stake claim to another award. Jasper, Indiana-based Indiana Furniture has bagged Greenguard Environmental Institute certification for four product lines featuring its UV Advantage finish.

The manufacturer's Promise, Centennial, Revolutions, and Madera desk and casegood lines are treated with finishes that are cured by ultraviolet light to prevent the release of toxins, formaldehyde, or solvents into the air. UV Advantage finishes are also practically impervious to scratches, water stains, and most chemicals  -- and won't darken or yellow with age. In addition to Greenguard certification, the lines also meet BIFMA standards for low-emitting office furniture systems and earn points for LEED Credit 4.5.

"Our investment in UV Advantage is part of Indiana Furniture's continued interest in using leading-edge technology in pursuit of responsible environmental practices," says Indiana Furniture president and CEO Rich Slaton.
