Through December, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago will present the “Changemakers Series: Local Visionaries Making Global Change,” three forums meant to inspire change in today’s urban design and culture. Offered in conjunction with the exhibit “Massive Change: The Future of Global Design,” which is on view at the Museum through December 31, the forums will be led by Chicago visionaries.

Each forum will focus on design and how it influences contemporary life around the globe. Topics include architecture, religion, and climate change. Discussion will be open to attendees.

First up is: Stanley Tigerman and Elizabeth Smith in Conversation, Tuesday, October 17, at 6:30pm. Architect Stanley Tigerman of Chicago-based Tigerman McCurry Architects in Chicago will team up with  MCA chief curator and deputy director for programs, Elizabeth Smith.

On Wednesday, November 8, at 6:30pm is Eboo Patel and Martin Marty in Conversation. Patel, founder and executive director of Interfaith Youth Core, and Marty, a theologian and religious historian, will tackle the role of youth and religion in strengthening society and global politics.

The forum concludes Tuesday, December 5 at 6:30pm with Richard Sandor, founder of the Chicago Climate Exchange, artist Ellen Sandor, and journalist and cattle rancher Bill Kurtis. These three speakers will explore climate change, grass-fed beef, and socially conscious choices.

Free with museum admission, the forums will take place at the MCA Theater, 220 East Chicago Avenue.
