ASID Illinois Chapter Gala Set for October 3

Winners of the chapter's Design Excellence awards will be announced at the event.

It's time for designers throughout the Midwest to send their tuxes and gowns to the dry cleaner as the Illinois chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers prepares to host the fifth annual Celebration of Design gala at Chicago's Chase Auditorium on October 3.

But this isn’t merely an excuse to get dressed up, as the climax of the event will be the announcement of winners of the chapter's Design Excellence Awards. The competition was open to Illinois members of the ASID and International Interior Design Association, as well as registered interior designers throughout the state, who submitted entries in 23 categories representing residential, contract and product design sectors.

Included are honors for green design, singular residential space, kitchen, bath, corporate offices, retail hospitality, healthcare institutional, furnishings and fixtures. A panel of interior design professionals from ASID’s Georgia chapter judged the submissions and determined the final winners.

"With nearly 100 entries this year, and a spectacular new venue, the anticipation is building for this year's Celebration of Design Gala," says ASID Illinois chapter president James Landa. "We're proud to honor the best projects from Illinois-based interior designers and are looking forward to celebrating our profession as a whole."

Attendees will also be treated to a Red Carpet Reception prior to the awards presentation, and an A-List After-Party following the program. Tickets may be purchased online at www.asidillinois.com or by calling ASID's Illinois office at 312-467-5080.
