Berlin Story

edited by Sheila Kim -- Interior Design, 9/1/2003 12:00:00 AM

Some 95 galleries from 21 countries are gearing up for the eighth Art Forum Berlin fair, held at the Messe Berlin fairground. Of previous participants, 74 percent are returning. Most first-timers hail from Australia, Canada, and Slovenia, and the event's series of lectures is focusing on those three countries accordingly. Artists, curators, collectors, and critics discuss the Australian culture boom. "Berlin in Dialogue With Canada" compares artistic tendencies and collecting for the institutional landscape and private sphere. "Europe United" looks at the cultural scene in future European Union member Slovenia. October 1-5; 49-30-3038-2076; art-forum-berlin.com.
