Absolutely 100 percent

Each September in London, the 100% Design fair vies with fashion-show festivities for the spotlight, not to mention hotel rooms. But we furniture types think it's worth the effort—if HM83 seating from Hitch Mylius is anything to judge by.

Creator Simon Pengelly, a Conran Design Group alum, says he took the shape from molecular structures. Upholstered in a variety of wools or leathers, the fluid plywood shells sit on stainless-steel legs. Each three-pronged piece seats six. Or join them into limitless complex forms, using the HM83b link. Alma House, 301 Alma Road, Enfield, Middlesex EN3 7BB, U.K.; 44-20-8443-2616; hitchmylius.co.uk. circle 311

Egg

Succulents indigenous to the African desert inspired the motif for this imaginative take on storage by young husband-wife designers Greg and Roché Dry. Their laser-cut steel cubbies are powder-coated in epoxy. 27-31-313-8200; greg@eggandmilk.co.za. circle 312

Hay

Since debuting last year at the Copenhagen Furniture Fair, this company has launched its sophomore selection, including the One series. The stacked tubes of Leif Jørgensen's Round One lounge and ottoman modules recall Joe Colombo's Tube chair. 1 Havnen, 8700 Horsens, Denmark; 45-994-23870; hay.dk. circle 313

Extremis

A deceptively simple outdoor table with integral benches, Dirk Wynants and Xavier Lust's PicNik begins as a single 3/8-inch-thick aluminum plate. Once folded, it forms a finished piece small enough for an urban balcony. Also available are children's versions, one third smaller. Ideas for Living, 414 Adams Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108; 505-266-5245; extremis.be. circle 316

Digitile

The Extreme series includes the kaleidoscopic Clouded7. Printed with an exclusive process on square ceramic floor tiles, Dominic Crinson's flexible digital pattern comes in a standard repeat or as a large-scale mural. The company can also apply patterns to wallpaper, carpet, and fabric. 15 Redchurch Street, London E2 7DJ, U.K.; 44-20-7613-2783; crinson.com. circle 314

Ali Rhind Textiles

This designer's background in rag rugs informs her shaggy, citrus-spotted upholstery fabric of hand-dyed recycled wool. The chunky cut pile comes from wide strips of old blankets, but the technique is equally appropriate for rugs, wall hangings, and acoustic panels. Ouseburn Warehouse, 36 Lime Street, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne NE1 2PQ, U.K.; 44-1912-332121; ali.rhind@virgin.net. circle 315

Louise Body Wallprint

Tantalizing twins on trapezes, oh my! We can't take our eyes off Erotic,Louise Body's orgy of lovelies in various states of undress. She offers her provocative hand-printed patterns on bespoke panels and canvases, too. 73 The Drive, Flat 6, Hove, East Sussex BN3 3PG, U.K.; 44-7734-907357; louisebodywallprint.com. circle 319

Helen Amy Murray

A patent is pending on this designer's technique for producing three-dimensional laminated upholstery of leather or fabric bonded on foam. Completely transforming a vintage pedestal chair, the leather version shown is incised with a hand-cut fish-scale pattern. She's equally adept at rendering rosettes. 5 Durham Yard, Unit 12, London E2 6QF, U.K.; 20-7033-0186; helenamymurray.com. circle 317

Miranda Watkins

The Random light electrified us. This crisply modernist fixture features 11/2-foot-long kinetic strips of semitranslucent acrylic and anodized aluminum—forever shifting in the breeze to diffuse the incandescent illumination from a single central bulb. Oxo Tower Wharf, 2.11, Bargehouse Street, London SE1 9PH, U.K.; 44-20-7928-9206; mirandawatkins.com. circle 318

Prandina

The Extra F1 fixture puts a new spin on one of this Italian company's mainstays, adding a mirrored finish to the upper parabola of the diffuser as well as a titanium-painted base with four spokes plated in brushed nickel. Coordinating pendant and ceiling fixtures round out the Extra series. 629 Western Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104; 206-310-8649; prandina.it. circle 320

Marotte

From a supplier of classic wood-veneer interior wall paneling, Cocoon 02 features a mosaic pattern of nests and branches on a birch background. Custom decorative mural panels are offered at almost 4 by 10 feet, with optional matched edges for multi-panel walls. 47 Rue Eugène Berthoud, Bureau Postale 87, 93402 Saint-Ouen, France; 33-1-49-48-13-60; marotte.fr. circle 321

Maxdesign

A highlight of Belgian-born, Milan-based Gabriele Pezzini's Simple series, the indestructible Dancer stool is wrought from satin-finished stainless steel. The seat and footrest are adjustable, rising and falling on a pneumatic cylinder and pirouetting above a disk base. 75 Via Dei Banduzzi, 33050 Bagnaria (Arsa, Udine), Italy; 39-0432-996412; maxdesign.it. circle 322

Cole & Son

Beauty always loves company. This venerable wallpaper supplier has cloned and updated its frilly Belle Voir archival floral. The new rose-flushed gold metallic print appears on a luscious, subtly striped background. Lee Jofa, 201 Central Avenue South, Bethpage, NY 11714; 888-533-5632; cole-and-son.com. circle 323

Moroso

The functional centerpiece of London-based Tord Boontje's experimental Forever collection is Cushion, a monumentally outsize ottoman. The lush pattern of the cover fabric translates Boontje's signature illusionistic two-color florals into a red-swooshed print named Forest. 60 Via Nazionale, 33010 Cavalicco (Udine), Italy; 39-0432-577111; moroso.it. circle 324

Living With Colour

Wendy Morrison's hard-wearing hand-tufted rugs of pure New Zealand wool hail from the windswept western coast of Scotland. But the densely woven yarns of Joy, from her debut collection, capture the earthy warmth of Africa. Comraich, 4 Littleton Farm Lane, Turnberry, South Ayrshire KA26 9JS, U.K.; 44-8453-451744; livingwithcolour.com. circle 326

SCP

Terence Woodgate's low-slung Lansdowne sofa system updates the button-tufted English chesterfield, substituting foam for feathers. The three-seat frame of solid beech stands on legs of stainless steel. To create an L, connect the sofa and a companion chaise with a single arm. 135-139 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3BX, U.K.; 44-20-7739-1869; scp.co.uk. circle 325

Site Specific Art Management

It's disco with a preppy spin. Deborah Czeresko'sPlaids Illuminated Orbs come in blue, green, and black-and-white handblown glass. Bernhardt Design

Light yet heavy, transparent yet opaque. Opposing adjectives best describe the combination of acrylic and walnut in Philippe Cramer's Intermix lounger and Mix dining table. (The table comes in elliptical and rectangular shapes.) In walnut minus the acrylic, Cramer's Edit side chair has a plywood seat that can also be upholstered. 1839 Morganton Boulevard, Lenoir, NC 28645; 828-758-9811; bernhardtdesign.com. circle 328
