Sale of the (20th) Century

Staff -- Interior Design, 4/1/2002 12:00:00 AM

An extraordinary collection of French modernist furniture and decorative objects—from a Hollywood Regency residence whose interior was designed by Robert Couturier, no less—is coming to the New York headquarters of auction house Phillips, de Pury & Luxembourg this month. Think: a 1935 octagonal mirror by Serge Roche, a daybed by Jean-Michel Frank, and oak chairs by Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann, with estimates from $800 to $100,000. April 19-24 viewing, April 25 sale; 212-940-1200; www.phillips-auctions.com.
